The Ragged Hearts are a transatlantic husband-and-wife alt-folk duo from New York and North East UK - a creative and life partnership that blends very different voices and influences into a UK roots and world-tinged Americana sound.

Their songs are rooted in real life, shaped by questions and wonderings and directly influenced by family, friends, and world happenings. Even as an acoustic duo their live performances mix driving rhythms, soaring harmonies and story-driven songwriting to make you move, think and feel.

Comparisons have been made to The Civil Wars and Shovels & Rope, but there are nods to the anthemic grit of Frank Turner and Sam Fender, or the heartfelt simplicity of Sara Bareilles. The pair can play as a duo or with a full band, bringing energy and connection to festival stages and intimate venues alike.

Their signature track "Home Fires" shows off an infectious foot-stomping side - an upbeat energetic reflection on England’s 2024 summer riots and our current political climate, and a driving call to push into love and hope in divided times.

I Don't Know How To Make It Right

Breadline

A reflection on England’s 2024 summer riots and our current political climate, and a driving call to push into love and hope in divided times.

A love letter from a mother to a daughter from Montauk Point.

Saying sorry is a tradition in songwriting - this one lays it on the line.

This song reflects the real words of people using Food Banks. They don't make the news so much these days, and Food Banks solve a problem. They just shouldn't have to.

The verses read to us like a Southern Gothic divorce murder ballad, so we made a soundtrack to fit.
